Aukilo 1.3.2 — barcode-free products, and a shopping assistant

Version 1.3.2 opens Aukilo up to products that have no barcode — fruit and vegetables, cheese from the counter, fish, bread — and puts a shopping assistant at your disposal. Here is the full tour.

Products sold without a barcode

Until now everything started with a scan, so loose apples or a piece of Comté had no place in Aukilo. That is now fixed.

  • More than 900 counter and aisle products: fruit and vegetables, deli counter, fish counter, bakery. On the scan screen, "Product without a barcode" opens the list, with its own search.
  • Origin and organic: AI reads this information from the shelf label along with the price, and you can correct it before sending.
  • Shown on prices: "Organic" and "Origin: France" appear directly on the price rows of the product page.

A shopping assistant, included with Aukilo+

  • Tell it what you are looking for: it finds the current promotions around you, nearby stores, and the price trend of an aisle when a product has too few readings.
  • It fills your lists and creates your price alerts without you leaving the conversation.
  • Opened from a list, it adds straight into that list.

Smoother maps

  • Every map in the app moves to a new engine: accelerated rendering, panning and zooming without stutter, and a base map served by our own servers.
  • The watermark that had appeared on the community map is gone.

A more honest national benchmark

  • One single national average price per product page, and it now states what it is based on: this exact size or every size of the product.

Lists and comparisons

  • Adding a product already in a list now increases its quantity instead of creating a duplicate.
  • The travel distance you accept is once again a hard limit in "Around me".
  • The "Best value" badge follows what is actually displayed, and a size that the price contradicts no longer shows up.

Also in this release

  • Readable notification headers in all thirteen languages.
  • Stability fixes and assorted improvements.
