Receipts: all your prices in one photo

Take a photo of your receipt, or share it from your shop's app: Aukilo recognises your products, and your prices improve the comparison for everyone. And "Latest prices" is never empty any more.

Read the details

Version 1.5 comes down to one gesture after your shopping: your receipt. A single photo shares the prices of your whole basket at once, where a shelf check shares just one.

Your receipt, in one photo

  • Three ways to send it: a photo of the paper receipt (in several photos if it is long), a screenshot from your shop's app, or a PDF.
  • From your shop's app or your emails, share the receipt straight to Aukilo.
  • AI reads every line and finds the shop. If in doubt, Aukilo asks you first: search for it by name, town or postcode.
  • Till discounts, multi-buy offers and loyalty card savings are read: the price shared is the one you actually paid.

Every product, confirmed in one tap

  • Recognised products show up straight away. For the others, Aukilo suggests the most likely ones: "Yes, that's the product" is all it takes.
  • "Scan my products": scan each item as you put your shopping away, and Aukilo links it to the right line of the receipt. No barcode? A photo of the product will do.
  • Loose fruit and vegetables: add the variety, origin and organic label if you wish.
  • Swipe to skip a product you'd rather leave out. Your receipt is sorted into three tabs: To do, Shared and Skipped.
  • A soft beep confirms each successful scan. Sounds can be turned off in settings.
  • The more receipts the community sends, the more Aukilo recognises each shop's labels on its own.

Your data stays yours

  • Only prices are shared, without your name, unless you choose to show your username.
  • The photo of your receipt stays private, and we delete it after 90 days.
  • Deleting a receipt also removes the prices it shared.

A reminder after shopping

  • When you finish your list or leave the shop, Aukilo can remind you to send your receipt. The receipt reminder can be turned off in your alert settings.

On the home screen

  • "Latest prices" is never empty any more: when there are few prices near you, the most recent ones in your country fill the list.
  • Whatever is in progress waits at the top of the screen: a receipt to finish, your list, your welcome mission.
  • The first time you open a screen, a short tour shows you the essentials.

A calmer first launch

  • No more burst of requests when you open the app: your analytics and advertising choices are made in the sign-up form, and notifications or location are only requested when they are needed.
  • Hiding your username also makes your already published contributions anonymous.

And also

  • The profile and the "Enjoying Aukilo?" window have been redesigned.
  • Offline, the app no longer gets stuck on the logo at start-up.
  • Various fixes and improvements.

Home screen widgets, and loose produce the way you buy it

Your tick-off list, the best deals, the scanner and your price alerts, right on your home screen. In store, leave or switch shop in one tap, and record loose produce by the piece or by weight.

Read the details

Version 1.4.1 takes 1.4 further into the places where you actually shop: your phone's home screen, the aisle, and the fruit and veg stand.

Aukilo on your home screen

Four widgets, on iPhone and Android alike:

  • My shopping list: tick items off without opening the app, with the photo, size and price of each line. You choose which list it shows, and you can place two widgets for two different lists.
  • Deals: today's best prices near you. Tap a deal to open its product page.
  • Scanner: the camera in one tap to check a price in the aisle, even from the iPhone lock screen.
  • Price alerts: the products you follow, and the ones that have hit your price.

To add them, open Settings, then Widgets, in the app. Items ticked from the widget are saved the next time you open Aukilo.

In store, leave or switch in one tap

  • When Aukilo knows you are in a shop, two buttons sit at the top of the screen: "Leave" takes you back to your usual home screen, "Change" is there if you are actually in another shop.
  • On Android, the arrival reminder is back. It stays optional: switch it on in the settings, or turn it down with a single button.

Loose produce, the way you buy it

  • Add "6 apples" or "1 kg of apples": fruit, vegetables, cuts of meat and whole fish can be asked for by the piece or by weight, with the equivalent shown alongside.
  • Pick the variety (Gala, Pink Lady, Conference…) and the origin you prefer. Both are optional.
  • All of it works even offline.

New foundations

  • All of the app's data now goes through a single access point, better protected and easier to build on. Nothing changes in how you use it.

Also new

  • The Community map shows contributors, cities and shops as clearer tiles.
  • After a contribution, Aukilo asks you once whether to show your contributions on your public profile. Without your say-so, they stay hidden.
  • The "All time" leaderboard now updates as soon as you contribute.
  • Bug fixes and other improvements.

The Scout for everyone, store mode, and sixteen countries

Ask the Scout without a subscription, let the app recognise the shop you walk into, and meet a product page that decides with you. Aukilo opens in sixteen European countries.

Read the details

Version 1.4 is our biggest update since launch. It opens the Scout to everyone, teaches the app to recognise the shop you walk into, rethinks the product page, and takes Aukilo beyond France. Here is what changed.

The Scout, now for everyone

Our shopping assistant is no longer reserved for Aukilo+: five questions a day are free for all, with no subscription.

  • From a recipe to a list: ask for lasagne for four and it fills your list with the right sizes at the best price.
  • Shops open right now around you, with their real opening hours.
  • The cheapest petrol station on your route, diesel or unleaded.
  • And still today's deals and the trend behind a price.

The app knows which shop you are in

  • When you arrive, the home screen becomes the retailer's: its catalogue, its prices, its fuel.
  • Nothing switches behind your back: the app first asks whether you really are shopping there.
  • An optional reminder can alert you on arrival, with your list and the deals of that shop.

A product page that decides with you

  • A verdict at the top of the screen, then the three decisions that matter: change size, change brand, go next door.
  • No more tabs to explore: everything sits on one page, in order of importance.
  • A price-per-kilo scale places what you pay against the market, at a glance.

Lists that think in needs

  • Write "coffee" or "washing powder": Aukilo picks the product and the shop, at the best price per kilo.
  • "Plan my shop" compares several ways of splitting the basket between shops and shows what each one saves.
  • The list works without a connection: tick items in the aisle, everything syncs when you are back online.

Loose goods, straight from the shelf label

  • Products sold without a barcode can now be recorded straight from the shelf label, without going through the scanner.

Aukilo opens in sixteen countries

The app leaves France for Europe: Austria, Belgium, Czechia, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

  • Local retailers, local products, and prices in each country's currency — Swiss francs, pounds, zlotys, crowns, forints, lei.
  • The app follows your phone's language, across thirteen languages.

Also in this release

  • A new home screen, with a carousel of shortcuts and the latest news.
  • Unlimited price alerts.
  • Stability fixes and various improvements.
Version 1.3.2Sep 1, 2026 · Feature

Barcode-free products, and a shopping assistant

Fruit and vegetables, cheese from the counter, fish: you can finally contribute prices for products sold without a barcode, along with their origin. A shopping assistant answers your questions and fills your lists, and the maps move to a new engine.

Read the details

Version 1.3.2 opens Aukilo up to products that have no barcode — fruit and vegetables, cheese from the counter, fish, bread — and puts a shopping assistant at your disposal. Here is the full tour.

Products sold without a barcode

Until now everything started with a scan, so loose apples or a piece of Comté had no place in Aukilo. That is now fixed.

  • More than 900 counter and aisle products: fruit and vegetables, deli counter, fish counter, bakery. On the scan screen, "Product without a barcode" opens the list, with its own search.
  • Origin and organic: AI reads this information from the shelf label along with the price, and you can correct it before sending.
  • Shown on prices: "Organic" and "Origin: France" appear directly on the price rows of the product page.

A shopping assistant, included with Aukilo+

  • Tell it what you are looking for: it finds the current promotions around you, nearby stores, and the price trend of an aisle when a product has too few readings.
  • It fills your lists and creates your price alerts without you leaving the conversation.
  • Opened from a list, it adds straight into that list.

Smoother maps

  • Every map in the app moves to a new engine: accelerated rendering, panning and zooming without stutter, and a base map served by our own servers.
  • The watermark that had appeared on the community map is gone.

A more honest national benchmark

  • One single national average price per product page, and it now states what it is based on: this exact size or every size of the product.

Lists and comparisons

  • Adding a product already in a list now increases its quantity instead of creating a duplicate.
  • The travel distance you accept is once again a hard limit in "Around me".
  • The "Best value" badge follows what is actually displayed, and a size that the price contradicts no longer shows up.

Also in this release

  • Readable notification headers in all thirteen languages.
  • Stability fixes and assorted improvements.

Smart shopping lists, offline mode and aisle browsing

Shopping lists with multi-store optimization, full offline mode, aisle-by-aisle browsing with Nutri-Score filters, new community and store maps. Everything shipping with 1.3.

Read the details

1.3 is the biggest update since launch. The shopping list becomes a real in-store assistant, the app now works without a connection, and the catalog can finally be browsed aisle by aisle. Here is the full tour.

Optimized shopping lists — major overhaul

The list becomes a true smart list with state, designed for the in-store journey.

  • Check off your items as you shop, with persistent placement: each product remembers the store where you buy it.
  • Automatic optimization: Aukilo computes several scenarios (everything in one store, best price across stores…) and shows the savings of each option.
  • Format swap in one tap: "use this format" when another size is cheaper per kilo.
  • Unified adding: add a product from a price, a favorite, a scan or search, through a single picker sheet.
  • Cheaper alternatives suggested right inside the list, deals preserved.
  • History: completed lists are archived with a recap of the savings you made.

Aisle browsing + filters

  • Browse by aisle: explore products by category and subcategory, without necessarily typing a search.
  • Full filters: Nutri-Score, NOVA group, organic, labels, store and brand.
  • New, more readable result cards (grid + list).

Community contributions map

  • New community map showing contributor activity.
  • City selector and community hero map on the home screen.

Store map with radius

  • The store map now shows every shop within your radius (your profile search radius, capped at 30 km), with the perimeter circle drawn.
  • Smart marker clustering by zoom level to stay smooth, markers colored by store brand, favorites highlighted.

Offline mode

  • Local data pack: check your favorite prices and contribute even without a connection — the AI label reading and the upload happen once you are back online.
  • Lists work offline, with automatic sync when the network returns.

Product page

  • Nutrition information (Nutri-Score, NOVA badge) and per-format details.
  • Alternatives and best prices grouped together, pending-sync banner.

Richer profile menu

  • Dedicated notification settings, per alert type.
  • Offline mode settings: download a price pack for your favorites.

And also

  • Shortcuts from your phone's home screen.
  • Many fixes and stability improvements.

Aisle browsing, store pages, detailed promotions and measured savings

Browse by aisle, a dedicated page per store, exact promotion values (strikethrough price, loyalty card, discounts) and a calculation of your real savings. Everything shipping with 1.2.

Read the details

1.2 helps you explore prices differently and measure what you gain. Here is the tour.

Browse by aisle

  • Browse by aisle: explore products by category, without necessarily typing a search.

Store page

  • Latest prices recorded in a given store.
  • Category navigation of the store, aisle by aisle.

Exact promotion values

  • Every detail of a promotion: strikethrough price, price with the loyalty card, discount in euros, discount on the 2nd item.
  • These values are visible on screen and can be filled in when you contribute.

Your savings, measured

  • Calculated at checkout: check a product off as bought, confirm the price paid, and Aukilo compares it to what you would have paid otherwise.
  • Cumulative savings: "You saved X" tracks the total of what you gained.
  • The comparison is always per kilo (or per liter), and never goes below zero.

Deals on the home screen

  • "Latest": the most recent promotions around you.
  • "For you": deals on the products you follow, ranked by best discount.

Privacy

  • Anonymized data sharing: a clear consent setting you can turn on or off whenever you want.

And also

  • Many fixes and stability improvements.

Guided multipack reporting and in-store contributions

Multi-step multipack reporting with fake-trap detection, in-store verified contributions, neighborhood challenge and country detection while traveling. Everything shipping with 1.1.

Read the details

1.1 makes contributing fairer and multipack reporting simpler. Here is what is new.

Redesigned multipack reporting

  • Guided step-by-step flow: photograph the multipack label, then the single-unit label — Aukilo compares the two for you.
  • Fake-trap detection: if the multipack is actually cheaper than buying single units, the app tells you clearly. Reports stay reserved for real traps — packs that cost more than the product sold on its own.

Contributions anchored to the store

  • On-site verification: to compare your price, you need to be in the store — location confirms the brand.
  • Price in the right format: enter the price per kilo, per liter or per piece, depending on the product.

Community

  • Neighborhood challenge that is faster and more robust.
  • Contributor leaderboard optimized to stay smooth even with a lot of people.

Getting ready for travel

  • Country detection: Aukilo recognizes the country you are in, a first step toward expanding beyond France.

And also

  • Product, contribution and profile pages rebuilt for more fluidity.
  • Many fixes and stability improvements.
Version 1.0Jun 5, 2026 · Feature

The first public release

Price-per-kilo comparator, shrinkflation detector, misleading multipack alerts, photo recognition, unified product database. Everything in Aukilo's first public version.

Read the details

We spent a year building Aukilo in our corner. Here is everything we shipped for v1.0, the very first public release on the App Store and Play Store.

The bet

Make the price per kilo finally readable — everywhere, on any product, without a calculator. And let the community build the database, not a big retailer or institute.

What you can do today

Compare per kilo, by format and by store

Scan a product and the app instantly shows other formats of the same item (240 g, 400 g, 1 kg...) and prices reported by the community at Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Aldi, Lidl, Morrisons... The cheapest per kilo wins, period.

Detect shrinkflation

The first community-powered shrinkflation detector. When you scan a product whose weight has silently dropped, we compare it to 24 months of history, calculate the gap in price per kilo, and attach photo evidence. No more invisible price hikes.

Spot misleading multipacks

Is the "maxi pack" really cheaper? We calculate the price per kilo of the bundle and compare it to the single unit. When the pack costs more per kilo (which happens more often than you'd think), Aukilo flags it clearly.

Recognise a product by photo

Torn barcode, folded label, regional product with no scannable EAN? A photo is enough. The vision engine identifies brand, format and variant in under 3 seconds.

A unified product database

The same Nutella sold at Tesco, Aldi and Lidl — different barcodes, different formats — points to a single product page. Stores are finally aligned on the same comparable unit. It's invisible work, but it changes everything.

Community + reports

Every price entry is attached to a label photo, a geolocation and a timestamp. You can flag a suspicious price, confirm a listing, validate a format change. The more of us there are, the fresher the data.

What we're preparing next

  • Price drop notifications on your favourite products
  • A top deals feed for your neighbourhood
  • Batch contributions (a whole receipt in one swipe)
  • A browser extension for online grocery shopping
